ONAIR – Sophie Lacour, what are the activities of the association Bienveillance SBH?

Sophie Lacour – Sophie Lacour – Created in 2015, our association has always aimed to make training in empathy and self-empathy available, to share these tools that pacify daily life and relationships with others; so we can better understand ourselves and the others.

OA – How do you work in the field of education?

SL – On the island, many teachers have already been made aware and we support the middle school through the «club for living well together» project. We work with Déclic CNV and Éducation, which trains education staff nationally. We co-organized a workshop in June:  Training parents, future parents, teachers, educators and children is our priority. Collective peace is not possible without individual peace. The roots of violence come from a lack of  peace awareness in education.

OA – How do children approach nonviolent communication?

SL – Children learn very quickly. We work with «Leti Gribouilles» to which we donate 1% of our donations. Using its supports,  children can easily describe their emotional state and link it to a need, and wonder about what’s happening inside them. It is important to reconnect each individual to their bodily and sensory perceptions, to allow them to focus on what they feel and express it with kindness. The Dalai Lama said that «if every 8-year-old in the world is taught meditation, we will eliminate violence from the world within one generation.» We are therefore looking for partners and donors because this year, without our valuable members, the help from the Collectivity and especially our benefactor Sandra Murcia and her husband Jean-Michel, nothing would have been possible. Thank you for your donations that will make our dreams of peace, fraternity and benevolence come true.
